Brits have quite hot summers that vary between 24°C - 35°C. On rare occasions the winter temperatures will drop below 5°C which makes the North West region quite suitable for Budgerigars and fairly similar to their native Australian habitat. This also contributes to consistent breeding throughout the year without major isolation from harsh weather conditions as the case may be in other regions.

The town where I grew up, (Standerton), had  quite cold winters and drastic measures had to be taken to ensure proper isolation. Due to above mentioned, a slack in breeding could be noticed every time the season changed.
